Thirty years ago, my love of live theatre and my curious and creative streak prompted me to delve deeper into the world of theatrical fantasy. In community theatre opportunities are abundant for the back stage crafts. Every crew member must offer utter commitment, true teamwork and a mind that is original and imaginative. Rewards are many; the opportunity to express creativity and build friendships, but most importantly, have fun.
My role as Set Designer continues my passion for decor. Choosing the design and decor for a theatrical play or for a client's home follows similar principles. Reading a script and learning how the characters interact is much the same as learning how my clients use their space, the mood they wish to convey and in both cases how to bring it all together in harmony. The best shows are always the ones where all the elements come together in an imaginative vision and where the intention is realized.
