Meet Susan Phillips

Susan Phillips became interested in design at a very early age. "It all began", she recalls, "when I watched my mother fashion fabulous ball gowns for Queen Elizabeth’s court in London, England. The coordination of colour, texture and form has been an ongoing passion ever since.

It was almost 30 years ago that Susan became involved in Community Theater, using her skills and talents to create costumes and theatrical sets. "Choosing the design and decor for a theatrical play or decorating a client's home, or preparing a home for resale follows similar principles", Susan explains. "Reading a script and learning how the characters interact is much the same as learning how my clients use their space, the mood they wish to convey and in both cases how to bring it all together in harmony".

Susan holds a Diploma in Interior Design with an Award of Merit, she is also an Approved Education Provider for Home Staging on behalf of the Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO), and is an active member of CDECA, the Canadian Decorators' Association.

Spotlight on Decor reflects Susan's passion for interior decoration in both play and profession and her clients are fortunate to benefit from her unique experiences.
